"Penacova", by Carlyn Clark of "The 1 Motif 100 Ways" series for day 37 of "The 100 Day Project"
Today I'm exploring gradients and the effect of color change. There's only one motif used above, but by changing the scale and color and adding gradients it takes a good bit of study to find the element. In my painting class, my project is about using neutralized color and creating the appearance of space with the color, so I decided to play around with those concepts on the computer in Illustrator as well.
The idea for the element came from a random graphic I spotted in this photo of a motocross race through the streets of Penacova, Portugal. I have no idea what the logo is for, but evidently it's a sponsor of the race.
