A companion print to yesterday's modern abstraction, this pattern is inspired by a tile pattern I spotted in this rather elaborate cathedral in Navaré, Portugal. I wasn't able to locate the photographer to credit him/her, which could be the result of the large no photos sign. I started out with the intention of doing a very tile-like pattern, but not really being able to see what the tiles looked like I started playing around with the general shapes I thought I saw. Then, remembering yesterday's pattern, and seeing that the colors were similar, I decided to do a companion pattern that was more modern than the traditional tile pattern in this highly ornate church.
