After a few days of exploring gradients and different ways to use color in the patterns, I decided to focus on texture today. I've used several layers to build up the texture in the background. I started by taking photos of concrete, stucco and burlap. I played around with them in Photoshop and Illustrator to create a series of repeating allover textures. Then I altered the scale of the textures and layered them to create a single repeating and more complex background.
The pattern is named after the Portuguese village of Glória do Ribatejo, for the simple reason that I liked the sound of it.
