"Idanha-a-Nova", by Carlyn Clark of "The 1 Motif 100 Ways" series for day 48 of "The 100 Day Project"
danha-a-Nova has some of the craziest use of local rock that I've ever seen. There are several really large rocks that have buildings that wrap around them. I was interested in the patterns of the stacked rock walls that surround the huge boulders and reinterpreted them into this repeating pattern. The colors are pulled from the rocks and shadows.
