I've gone away from the stars of the last few days (although I still see them here...) and have moved onto targets. I started today by looking at the colors in this building, Quinta dos Lorridos, a typical farm producing grapes and wine, in Bombarral, Portugal. The property has a fascinating history, dating back to the 14th Century with many changes of ownership mostly recently in 1989 to the Sepulveda family who turned it into a vineyard. In 2001 the proprietor was disheartened to learn of the Taliban's destruction of ancient Buddha statues in Afghanistan and devoted a 35-hectare garden with terracotta, marble and granite Buddhas and other eastern deities. All of which has very little to do with today's pattern, but I had happy thoughts as I was working on the pattern, thinking about the man who upon hearing about destruction and war struck out to do something in response.
