Another simple motif, this one inspired by the round architectural elements on the Ingreja da Graca in Evora, Portugal. Dating back to Roman times, the city of Evora is partially surrounded by medieval walls and has monuments remaining from many of those eras. It even has the ruins of a Roman temple. I was struck by all the round elements on this church, and sort of tossed them all together in an abstract way. The colors come from the tones in the marble and a deep teal blue found in the sky at dusk.
