A simple two-color version of the motif, inspired by the Palace Hotel in Vidago, Portugal.
Vidago is famous for it's mineral waters and was the site of a spa that goes back to Roman times and was later frequented by royalty in it's golden days, c.1875. The waters were thought to be good for digestion and gout, thanks to the sodium bicarbonate that naturally occurs. Today the hotel has been refurbished and is a top luxury spot to visit. I was inspired by the architectural details and reworked my original motif to reflect the shapes in the building.
