For day 10 of The 100 Day Project, I continued to simplify the motif and for the first time changed the elements colors.
Once again, I looked to Azulejo tile work for inspiration in developing a motif. I'm keeping it simple at this point. but in the future I'll use this repeating pattern as a basis for a print with additional elements.
This print is named after the parish of Fernão Ferro, located near Lisbon which caught my attention when I saw photos of a tile mural at an abandoned rail station. Plus, ferro is translated to iron in English and the motif reminded me of gears.
