After hours and hours of working out designs on paper and a computer screen it's very exciting to open the package with the first strike-offs of a fabric, and even more exciting to see the fabric made into an actual physical, three dimensional thing.
Strike offs (test prints performed prior to production) are the last critical check before putting prints into production to ensure registration, color, placement and especially the artwork. Thanks to the modern convenience of digital printing services (Spoonflower printed these) it's quick and easy to see what the prints will look like on a variety of fabrics.
Now that we've approved the strike off we'll be going into production and
using these prints for nursery bedding - a comforter, bumper and crib skirt.
